Managing contexts

Contexts define reusable typed structures for information that workflows need to carry consistently.

Create a context

  1. Open Settings > Organization > Contexts.
  2. Select Define new context.
  3. Enter the Name, Type, and optional Description.
  4. Enable multiple instances only when a workflow needs more than one instance.
  5. Add or upload the context schema, review it, and save.

Change controls

  • Give each context one business purpose.
  • Prefer additive schema changes over removing or changing fields.
  • Do not use contexts as an unstructured replacement for workflow inputs.
  • Do not place secrets in context definitions or examples.
  • Review workflow references before deleting or changing a context.

Only organization administrators and owners can manage contexts in the reviewed Studio configuration.
