Best Practices for Working with Applications
A few habits keep applications recoverable and easy to work with as a workspace fills up.
Always export before deleting
Deleting an application is permanent. An export lets you restore one deleted by mistake or return to an earlier version. See Exporting an Application.
Use clear naming conventions
A descriptive name like Fetch_Employee_Details states the application's purpose, where a generic name like Get1 does not. Application names accept letters, numbers, underscores, and single spaces — hyphens and other special characters are rejected.
Validate imports
Confirm an imported file matches your environment before relying on it. Files from another environment can carry structures and dependencies that do not apply where you are importing them.
Take regular backups
Export the applications you depend on regularly, so you can restore quickly after an accidental deletion or a system failure.
Deactivate rather than delete
If you only want an application out of the working list, deactivate it. It stays recoverable and frees a slot against the workspace limit of 10 active applications. See Deactivating Applications.
