Working with Application and Workflow Templates

Templates let you save an existing configuration and reuse it, so new applications and workflows start from a known-good structure instead of an empty canvas. Use them to standardize repeated setups across a team.

Both kinds of template start the same way — Use Template on the template card in the Library. What follows differs by template type.

Use an application template

An application template creates a new application with the workflows, resources, and schemas of the original already in place.

  1. Select Library in the left toolbar and open the templates section.
  2. Select the application template you want to use.
  3. Select Use Template.
  4. Enter a name for the new application.
  5. Select Create Application.

The modal is titled Use followed by the template name.

Creating an application from a template counts against the workspace limit of 10 active applications. If you have reached the limit, deactivate an application first — see Deactivating Applications.

Use a workflow template

A workflow template adds a pre-built workflow to an application you already have. It does not create an application, so it is not subject to the application limit.

  1. Select Library in the left toolbar and open the templates section.
  2. Select the workflow template you want to use.
  3. Select Use Template.
  4. Choose the application to add the workflow to.
  5. Select Create Workflow.

Adjust the workflow after adding it, so its activities match the target application's resources and variables.

When the template conflicts with existing items

If the template contains items that clash with what is already in the target application, the modal shows the conflicts and the confirm button becomes Resolve and Create. Review each conflict before continuing.

How you know it worked

The new application or workflow appears in your workspace, ready to customize.
